Second visit to see the Puffins and other birds on Inner Farne - 20th June 2024

I was getting the bus from Berwick-upon-Tweed to Seahouses and arrived at the station a little early, so I went for a short walk in the nearby park while I was waiting.

View of the Royal Border railway bridge from a bench behind a beautiful rose bush

When in Seahouses, I had time to spare before the boat sailed and saw these Eider ducks in the shallow water near the harbour

We sailed past Staple Island

and the Longstone Lighthouse

Guillemots flying past the boat

and on the rocks

and in the water

Arctic Terns were perching on the rocks at the edge of Inner Farne

One Artic Tern had a Sand Eel in its beak

The island was full of Atlantic Puffins

This Puffin was waiting to cross the human's boardwalk

Puffins were everywhere!

Terns were nesting at the edge of the boardwalk near the landing stage on Inner Farne - and attacked people as they arrived and left.  We were told to wear a hat or hood.  I also got pecked - and it hurt!
