Bell Tower, birds, flowers and Royal Border Bridge in Berwick-upon-Tweed - 15th June 2024

The Bell Tower, part of the old fortifications in Berwick-upon-Tweed, was situated on the route from the railway station to Berwick Holiday Park

In the afternoon I decided to go for a walk along the River Tweed footpath.

Robin at the edge of the footpath

Dunnock perching on a bush in front of the railway bridge

Speckled Wood butterfly on ivy at the edge of the footpath

First time I had ever seen Bullfinches - there appeared to be a male and a couple of females.  I did not go very near to them in case they flew away!

Male Blackbird between a pair of Chaffinches at the edge of the river

Common Merganser (Goosander) swimming along the river

Lovely Lupins and Foxgloves in Castle Vale Park, which is between the railway station and the river
