It was a lovely sunny day on 12th April, so I went for a walk in Battersea Park where I saw lots of birds, blossom and flowers.
Lone male Mute Swan with reflection
Bluebells under the trees
Yoga pose from a Mallard drake as it stands behind a fancy Mandarin drake
A female Mandarin walked carefully up to me
She then sat down in the shade next to her sleepy partner
Pair of Mallards - the female has very pale feathers
White Rhododendron flower on a bush near the edge of the path
A Robin appeared briefly on the railings
There was pretty pink blossom on a cherry tree
Four fluffy Egyptian goslings
Mum Egyptian preening her feathers
Dad Egyptian on guard duty
Coots enjoying a good fight
There was blossom in lots of places in the park
A profusion of Wild Garlic flowers
Wisteria on the pergola in the Old English Garden was just beginning to flower
There were many brightly coloured Tulips in the Old English Garden
Also mauve
and white Bluebell-like flowers
Star-shaped flowers
Beautiful pastel-coloured Irises
Laburnum was flowering at the edge of one of the paths
A mechanical military bird flew over the park
On the lake there was a female Common Pochard
and a male Common Pochard
Pair of Tufted ducks
A Grey Heron was feeding a juvenile in a nest at the top of one of the tall trees on the island
A pair of Mallard drakes began a long fight over a female!
The winning drake walked off with the female!
Pair of Gadwalls
It was good to see that the lone male Mute Swan had managed to find himself a female - she was sitting on a nest amongst the reeds
Great Crested Grebe appeared on the lake
Female Tufted duck with light marking on her face
