Flowers, damselflies and birds in Battersea Park - 18th August 2025

I went for a walk in Battersea Park in mid-August and saw that this large branch on the island had fallen into the lake

There was lots of Purple Loosestrife at the edge of the lake

Moody Grey Heron

The fountain was working well

There were some beautiful Waterlilies in the pond in the Old English Garden



Blue-tailed Damselfly resting on a leaf in the pond

Pair of Red-eyed damselflies ovipositing in the water

Common Blue damselfly resting on a water iris leaf

Male Common Darter dragonfly landed on a leaf for a few second

There were still some pretty flowers in the Old English Garden







I then continued my walk around the lake where I saw a pair of Egyptian geese

Female Common Pochard

Pair of Mute Swans
